LEDNICE-VALTICE CULTURAL LANDSCAPE

Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape is considered the most extensive man-made area in Europe and it is often symbolically called the garden of Europe. The local landscape is comprised of spacious palace gardens with beds of flowers, forests, vineyards and ponds. In the site, you can find a plenty of hunting palaces, temples, chaples and other architectural masterpieces. Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site and belongs to the Dolní Morava biospherical reserve.

Of the most significant architectural sights of the LVCL we name the palaces in Lednice and Valtice, Minaret, and so-called salets – small romantic buildings built by the Lichtensteins in the 18th and 19th centuries in order to adorn the landscape. On the long list of various salets, we can find among others multiple palaces (Rybniční, Pohansko, Hraniční, Lovecký, Belveder, Lány), temples (Apollon’s Temple, Three Graces, Rendezvous, Reistna), forest chaple of St. Hubertus, empire farm of Nový Dvůr, artificial ruins of Janohrad, Maur Waterwork, Aqueduct and many others.

In the site, you can find a dense net of cycleways which are almost flat and thus suitable also for cyclists with no prior training and children.
